Ram 2500 stuck in 4th gear

Basically all the problems with these transmissions are valve body related and the poor machining and casting quality of the components resulting in leakage. The rest of the transmission is generally pretty stout, with no real concerns, to the best of my knowledge. Oct 30, 2023 · The transmission fluid is full and looks clean. Thanks for your input, I will check things out, and report back if I find anything obvious. I usually put the truck in storage December 1st (after Michigan's firearm deer season ends) to help save the truck from the Michigan Winter (salt and chemicals on the roads).

P0882 and truck stuck in 4th means you are not getting 12V power from the Trans Relay (in the Totally Integrated Power Module [TIPM]) to the trans. The PCM sends a signal (at startup) to tell the Trans Relay to close, which then feeds 12V power to the trans. Might be best to have your dealer diagnose. Downshifting from 6th to 4th at 65 (or even 75+) mph shouldn't cause the tires to lock up. It might cause a 1500 +/- rpm jump, but that should be nowhere close to tire lockup. Clear all the codes. C) next time it’s stuck in the ignition and the steering wheel is turned hard in 1 direction or the other push the steering wheel in either direction and it may unlock it and take the key out easier.The part cost $65. 1hr labor to install, $120. They are easy to repalce, but the mech there cautioned me that it has an adjustable mount and has to be adjusted correctly to operate properly. If you have a little time, I think you could repalce it yourself pretty easily, if that's the problem.

The solenoid is electrical, and moves a valve when turned on, or off. When the valve does not move as expected by the TCM, it will set a fault code for that solenoid.
