I was given one of these back in the 70's-nothing but a box of parts. It had a cracked receiver side rail-sent to Marlin for that and a few other small parts it needed-reassembled the rifle and was amazed at how accurate it was. Probably couldn't get them to send a part like that ... james jimmy i inendino Yep, I've got a 989-M2, the 795 mags work quite well in it. If you have ANY issues with a 795 mag in an older Marlin, it's likely the mag needs a little feed lip tuning. Or the magwell/mag release has an issue...also easily resolved.
