Holley float setting
I'm rebuilding my Holley 750 (list 3310-6) vacuum secondary - model 4160. It has the front mounted floats for both bowls. I bought the rebuild kit with new needle/seat assemblies and a bunch of other stuff. The secondary side went in perfect and adjusted the float perfectly. the primary side is giving me trouble.535 posts · Joined 2000. #6 · Jul 13, 2011. my favorite way to set float levels on a holley with cener hung floats is to remove the bowl from the carb, turn it upside down,and use a 7/16" drill bit as a guage to set a 7/16" gap between the top of the bowl and the float. of course the top of the bowl is on the bottom when turned upside down!

I've not done any testing with it, but it's purpose and function is to dampen float movement such as from road vibration and so forth. It's very easy to tear the power valve gasket. Also look at the manual closely, the gasket that you pictured and said came off the primary side,according to my manual, is the correct gasket for the primary side.
Holley carb - Float bowl adjustment. I bought a new Holley 670 about 5 months ago. From the day I put it on the secondary float bowl would fill up to the very top of the sight plug (yes I adjusted the float). I changed the needle/seats and float. The original secondary float was the nitrowhatever type, I changed to a brass for the hell of it.Note: The float adjustment cannot cure a poor running engine, a bad ignition system, a clogged fuel filter, an improperly operating fuel pump or fuel pressure that is too high or low. This adjustment is provided solely to ensure that the fuel in the bowl can be adjusted to the correct level for the carburetor to perform its function.
