I think the biggest problem people have with emulation on the steam deck so far is the bios. Getting emudeck downloaded and set up is easy enough as it walks you through the steps quite well. Emudeck should have created a bios folder and rom folder. Dump all the various bios files in the bios folder. It's possible that you are using a different core (emulator) or non-updated core with retroarch.
