If you don’t have a water spout, just pump water from the group. 30 seconds later, dump it and pull your shot. Heat the pf by leaving it inside the group as the machine warms up. There seems to be a common problem with Breville BES870XL machines not automatically stopping the extraction when pressing the 1 or 2 cup buttons.
