Do this with the bike on its side stand on level pavement, garage floor, etc. Put a pan under the final drive, remove both the oil filler cap and the oil drain bolt. The oil drain bolt is the lower of the two. Drain completely, put the drain bolt and washer back and tighten it. Fill final drive with 4 ounces of SAE 80 hypoid gear oil.When you finally get it off now you know don't tighten it more than you can do by hand. Next change you should be able to remove by hand but many do prefer hot oil changes.
